Changing what we do, or how we do something, is one of the most emotive experiences we can have as humans. When you need your people to adapt to something new, it’s best to work with this fact – not against it. True transformational change can only happen by creating an honest and clear story which takes people on the journey, one step at a time.

I believe success in this comes from removing the corporate speak, being open, listening, and making sure you acknowledge the challenges just as much as ‘shouting’ about the benefits – in other words, be human. Finding out what motivates and inspires your people, and, then, making sure they have the right opportunities to own their part of the change is crucial. Bringing all this together will support a positive emotional response that will create real, long-lasting change.
